Went home from work early yesterday because of headache/nausea that kept creeping up on me and not really going anywhere as my Monday morning workload wasnt’t really getting any smaller in my snail like pace of getting things done. After much sleep and rest, I now feel much better and am ready to go back to work tomorrow. Can’t say I’m looking forward to the backlog of work tho…
Today, I got “forced” into listening to The Prodigy’s latest album, “Invaders Must Die”
A surprising breath of fresh air I must say. I’m a huge fan of their Experience album from 1992, and this album goes back to some of the roots of that, especially the track “Take Me to the Hospital”. An extremely cool mix of breakbeat, drum ‘n bass, some 90’s rave, and rock. Liam Howlett has gone back to the roots with this one and with great success in my opinion. Definatly worth looking into if you are into electronic music.

It snowed so much last night. It was a bit mental really. We now have snowy mountains up to over a metre high where the snowplough has piled it up along the roads. Weather hovering around zero though, so it will probably be melting away soon. Luckily the landlord and his dad came around today with a snow-remover-thingy and saved us a lot of shoveling.
Today has been spent mostly in front of the computer. And after a hard day of compiling eggdrop scripts on my virtual Debian box and surfing various forums, its nice to finish off with one of these while dinner is getting ready.
So much for my previous attempt at making a more interesting place on the web for myself. The design was up, and then it was left to grow digital ivy’s up along its virtual coloumns. Well, I certainly haven’t set the same sort of standards for myself this time.
Site is now simple and with no clear “purpose” as such. This is somewhere for me to rant or post things or do whatever. I read forums a lot these days. And listen to a lot of music. These are probably the things that will be written about/commented on the most. So, until I think of something worth writing about, bye!

So… New site, not much posting. This seems to be the normality for me these days. My own personal online presence is never as “present” as I plan it to be. Considering that most of my free time is spent online or in touch with computers generally, one would think that I had all sorts of interesting things to say and express about things. Well, I will… eventually. Personally, I don’t think the blog will have to much of a regular updated-ness about it. My wife checks my Facebook account and informs me if anything interesting is happening or I have any messages. I’m kind of tired of the whole online social thing (as I have been doing it a while), and most of the time I like to lead a quiet life that consists of easy evenings with the woman I love. So, if any Facebook people see this post from the link in my profile, know that I’m fine and happy.

I dreaded her hair in the beginnings of the summer, and she is keeping a blog about the progress and experience of having dreadlocks. The site is coming together nicely, and we are currently putting the finishing touches on it. It’s given me a lot of experience in PHP (using Wordpress as a base) and CSS. I’ve been pretty confident with XHTML in the past, but after completing this site and hers, both from scratch, it’s really cool to be getting to grips with code and instantly knowing what to do.
I’m planning to redo www.lunascapesdesign.net eventually as well. My portfolio needs updating, and I want it to represent my best skills in code and design. After landing a small job with a Norwegian furniture contracter, Mancini, my Flash skills have also become better and I want to combine flash with XHTML and CSS in order to make something really good.
However, at the moment, my coffee is getting cold, so toodelo.
Ok… Building a site from scratch using Wordpress seems to have been a bit more structured than I previously had anticipated. There are still quirks to figure out. Don’t even get me started on how the site looks in IE6 or below. I have tested the site in IE7 and Firefox and it works fine. I haven’t tested Safari or Opera yet, but my bet is that it will work fine in all modern browsers that support standards-compliant code.
I am really tempted to just add a redirect script to users who use inferior browsers, telling them to download proper web-browsing software. I will however try and get some help from someone to fix the cross browser bugs, but I am willing to just say fuck it if it all goes pear-shaped.
The site is looking good. I have accomplished all the things I wanted so far. The sidebar RSS feed(s) need to get looking right, the calendar as well. I want to do something fun with the tag cloud, but the CSS is a bit daunting on a late Friday evening so I might wait until my head is clearer and I’ve had a think.
Hello. So, I just managed to finish off the blog. I think I have gotten rid of most of the cross-browser bugs by now. IE is actually behaving itself (although we needed an “IF you are using Internet Bumsplorer…” in the <head> tag to load a different stylesheet etc etc.
Anyway, first day of the new job went ok. Training, tutoring, same ol’ same ol’. Reminds me of being back at ADSL training first day. The folder I got is certainly equal in size and girth lol (The Editor would like to point out that wonderboy is referring to the size and girth of the OTHER ADSL FOLDER….u filthy ppl)
Just chilling out at home at the moment with my Amy I’m going to a work outing thing tomorrow night which will hopefully be good. Will be a good chance to meet people I’ll be working with anyway. Quite tired at the moment, so will be cutting this post shortish. To all a goodnight for now.
